We all have days when we're in need of a pick me up, something to make us feel that little bit better about ourselves. And whether you're feeling brassic or a little well off, there is something to suit every budget.
1. Paint Your Nails
Splash out on a new colour that you wouldn't normally wear. I've bought nail polishes for as little as £1 from the local chemist and provided I apply a clear top coat, it usually lasts a good few days.
2. Spritz On Some Perfume
Perfume is one of my 'go to' items when I need to feel more attractive or glamorous. It doesn't even matter if I'm not planning to leave the house that day. There's something about wearing my favourite scent that just gives me a little bit of a boost. I'm a fan of sensual heavier perfumes such as Chanel Allure and Christian Dior J'Adore. Sod's law that I have expensive taste hey?
3. Apply A Face Mask And Relax
Believe it or not, you can pick up face masks ridiculously cheap if you look in places like Poundland. If you're feeling particularly stressed then put on some soft music, light some candles, wrap your head in a warm towel, apply a self heating face mask and lie down for ten. I guarantee you'll feel much better for it.
4. Give Yourself A Boost
Sometimes we need a little extra boost to get us through the day and provide that much-needed pick me up. Of course, one of the best ways to give yourself a boost and feel happy is to increase your endorphins by exercising. If you start your day by exercising, you can start the day right. However, if you need a little extra push to achieve a great workout, then you could buy MCT Oil. Add 1 tsp of this to your pre or post-workout smoothie to give you that extra boost. If you don't have the time to work out every day but still want that extra fuel in the tank for longer, then add 1 tsp to your coffee or tea or your lunch. This is perfect for adding to soup or any snacks and for people who love the ketogenic diets. When you can keep going for longer, then you can achieve more in your day, which can only leave a positive impact.
5. Book A Massage
If you've got some spare cash one month then why not put it to good use and book a back massage? I love having a decent facial or massage as it's always guaranteed to make me feel one hundred times better than I did when I walked through the door. Speaking of which, maybe it's time I made an appointment with a massage therapist near me. I've been feeling stressed of late! If you can't afford a professional massage, why not persuade your partner to give it a whirl?
6. Have Your Makeup Professionally Applied
There's something about having your makeup professionally applied that makes you feel amazing! Whether it's the secret tricks of the trade or the makeup they use, somehow these makeup artists manage to make you feel and look like a supermodel! My friend recently had her makeup done by Peaches and Cream and she looked simply stunning. I'm planning on booking with them to have my own done at some point in the future so keep a look out on GGD for a review!
7. Treat Yourself To Some New Underwear
I absolutely love lingerie. Even when I know that no-one can see it under my clothes, wearing pretty or sexy underwear instantly changes my mood. It gives me a confidence boost and makes me walk taller and more confidently somehow. Am I weird or do any of you girls feel the same? Whether you splurge in Victoria's Secret or save your pennies by shopping in Primark, the end result is the same.
