Where To Meet People On The LGBT Scene*

I've done several dating posts up til now but I've not really touched on same sex relationships before so today this post is about the LGBT scene. I have to admit, I wouldn't have had the first clue where to go to meet singles in the LGBT community but thanks to a little bit of help and research I've now discovered several places. I have both friends and family who are or have been in same sex relationships so thanks to them for allowing me to pick their brains just so I could bring you this post.

Match Making

If you have friends in the LGBT community then why not see if they can set you up with someone? Sometimes this is a great way to meet your soul mate as not only does your friend know you well, but they'll know the other person too. Why not ask them to do a bit of match making?

LGBT Bars

If you're looking to meet people and you're feeling confident then head on over to one of the many gay and lesbian bars that are scattered throughout the UK. Two I've come across are based in the heart of Manchester's gay village. The Eagle bar offers a unique experience for men looking to meet men and Vanilla is one for the girls. If you're based further south then Comptons of Soho is a fantastic gay bar in London. You'll find that there are plenty of these bars based up and down the UK but I'd say that Manchester's gay village is one of the best places to try.

Online Dating

If you're not feeling as brave and you like the safety net of hiding behind a dating profile, or perhaps you just want to see who's out there, then online dating could be perfect for you.

Grindr has become fairly well known in the LGBT community for men seeking men whilst Chappy is a newer up and coming dating app for the same. Growlr is a free social networking app with over 8,000.000 members or you could meet one of over 12 million gay men with Scruff.

For the girls there's Bumble which uses a mutual swiping right to make a connection, and Her is apparently the largest app for lesbian and bisexual women worldwide. Sites such as Elite Singles, Zoosk and Match have also become favorable on the LGBT scene.
