At one time I was a fan of shabby chic and to some degree I still am. But I've also recently developed a love for anything with a 'countryside' vibe. Think Emmerdale, Harris Tweed, cosy stone cottages, roaring fireplaces, Chesterfields and you're on the right lines. My dream house is no longer the huge imposing manor it was as a child, but more a quaint and picturesque little cottage set against a green, hilly background. Beatrix Potter had the right idea when she got herself a place in the Lake District. Definitely my kind of woman!
Tub chairs are giving away a beautiful tartan fabric Neyland Star Wingback Chair from their Wingback Chair collection - pictured above and below. Upholstered in a gorgeous, traditional red tartan fabric, this would look perfect in my dream 'country style' home. In fact, this chair has such an appealing design that it would be an ideal addition to any home. Worth just shy of three hundred pounds, - although it's currently on offer for £245 - this would make for a lovely New Year's gift to yourself.
If you love this chair as much as me and fancy your chances at winning, then all you have to do is simply follow Sloane & Sons @Tub_Chairs on Twitter and retweet their competition post. Easy peasy. You'll then be entered into a prize draw where the winner will be drawn at random. The competition is running until the 31st January 2018 for UK residents only who are also over 18. More terms and conditions can be found on Sloane & Sons competition page.
Before I wrap up, just a little bit of history for you. According to Sloane & Sons, wingback chairs were first used in the 1600's as a way to bring some style into otherwise formal English libraries and living rooms. And although hundreds of years have passed since they first became available, the design has remained pretty much the same.
Good luck everyone!
