Personal - March Life Catch Up

Well this one feels like it's been a long time coming. I've had collaborative work coming out of my ears and I'm mentally exhausted! It's refreshing to be able to just sit down and bash out a regular 'chatty' catch up post. Here's hoping I have something of interest to say lol!

So how are you all? What have you been up to? I've been busy, busy, busy but I took some time out over Easter to just relax which was bliss. I also had more than my fair share of Easter eggs but sshhh! ;)

Me and the boyfriend drove up to Kendal last weekend with a view to finding my ancestors grave in Kendal Parkside Road Cemetery. Trooper William Pearson was one of my great grandads (times about four I think) and survived the Charge of the Light Brigade. He was nursed by the one and only Florence Nightingale. You can find some of his medals and memorabilia in the Penrith Museum.

History lesson over, I also have a brand spanking new TBR list and I'm on the hunt for all of these books;

Friend Request by Laura Marshall
Still Me by JoJo Moyes
The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena
The Husbands Secret by Liane Moriarty
Seven Days Of Us by Francesca Hornak
Only Child by Rhiannon Navin
The Hate You Give by Angie Thomas
The Girls by Emma Cline
Stay With Me - A Novel by Ayobami Adebayo
The Heart Is A Burial Ground by Tamara Colchester

Have any of you read any of these? I'd love to hear your thoughts. Goodness knows how long it'll take me to whittle through this list, busy as I am and all. That said, I've decided some re-prioritizing of my life is in order! Hopefully this will mean more time for reading and catching up with friends.

Speaking of friends, one of mine sadly passed away recently and it really hit home just how precious and short life is. I felt mixed emotions when I heard the news about Joan, sadness of course but also guilt. I realised I'd been far too busy blogging and working to make time for those I care about. Obviously I can't do the lunch date or catch up with Joan now which makes me hugely sad, but I can learn from this and ensure that I make time for my other friends and family members.

That's about all I can think to say for now but one last note before I go, please check out these two fabulous blog posts that I recently came across; Exploring Is A Must by Winging Mama-hood and How To Get Through A Break-Up by Forever Motivated. They're both relatively new bloggers from what I can gather but both are ones to watch!

Until next time...

  1. I have read the majority of those books and they're all great. Friend Request was the best, in my opinion, so creepy and gripping! Sorry to hear about the passing of your friend hun, it can be hard to make time for everything in our busy lives, but friendship is so important. x www.aimeeraindropwrites.co.uk x
