Popping pharmaceutical pills can often seem like the ultimate cure-all, but in fact, many natural oral capsules and teas can have a significant impact on your health - with fewer chemicals.
Fish Oil Capsules - Unless you're eating the right amount of oily fish, the chances are you're a little low in some of the benefits that these little capsules can bring you. They are filled with Omega - fatty acids, like DHA and EPA, vitamins, minerals and proteins. Renowned for healthy and beauty-boosting capabilities, they are also packed with ALA and GLA. Which is all well and good, but what do they actually do? Well here is a short list:
- Help Control Blood Pressure
- Improve Fertility
- Improve Immunity and Metabolic Rate
- Promote Healthy Weight Loss
- Helps Protect from Type-2 Diabetes
- Boosts Skins and Hair Health
- Strengthens Bones
- Helps Joint Pain
- Great for Eyes
If you aren't taking a capsule, then you ideally need to start. If you happen to be Vegan, this isn't going to be your cup of tea. Alternatives would be Chia seeds, Flaxseeds, hemp seeds and leafy greens for ALA. for DHA and EPA algal oil, and seaweed like nori.
For energy boost properties, head for iron capsules. Many women find themselves unusually low on energy during certain times in their life, with periods, carrying babies during pregnancy and birth. It might be worth taking a gentle iron supplement. Here are a few significant benefits of taking an iron capsule:
- Healthy Pregnancy
- Reduction in Heart Palpitations
- Energy Boost
- Helps Reduce Likelihood of Anemia
Iron-rich foods include dark chocolate, liver, firm tofu, cooked spinach, lean ground beef and even a baked potato.
The new 'powerhouse' supplement is Moringa. You might have heard of Moringa hand cream, floral and really rich but there is a capsule that packs a punch. Morgina Leaf power capsules are easily ingested and said to contain: 30% protein, all eight amino acids, 47 anti-oxidants, 25 multivitamins, 36 anti-inflammatory agents, and all the co-enzymes to make absorption easy for the body. But what does all that do for you?
- Increased Focus and Mental Clarity
- Higher Alertness
- Increased Endurance
- Stamina
- Vitality
They come in two capsule versions, one of which is suitable for vegetarians.
Magnesium plays a vital role in the body, and apparently, we are very unlikely to have as much as we need. It is, in fact, claimed to be the leading nutritional deficiency in adults. The benefits are far ranging from this supplement:
- Increased Energy
- Helps Proper Sleep
- Relieves Cramps and Muscle Aches
- Supports the Body Use of Calcium
- Prevents Headaches and Migraines
- Calms Nerves
As we all know, getting a good night sleep and increasing energy levels make a big difference in how we feel and what we can achieve. Although you might be tempted to reach for a multivitamin, it might be worth a trip to the GP to see if you are low on anything and what you can do about it. As with everything, the capsule will need time to build up in the body.
