Why Your Wedding Reception Doesn't Have To Cost A Fortune*

*This is a collaborative post*

When it comes to arranging a wedding, it seems that costs just keep rising and rising and before you know it, you have spent three times more than you originally thought you would. Things get even more challenging when you find yourself trying to cut the cost, and you just can’t find a way to do it.

In this post, we are going to be looking at the most expensive part of your wedding, the reception, and then we are going to see how you can reduce the cost of your reception dramatically and not have to sacrifice any meaning from your wedding or your guests.

Why Weddings Are So Costly

The first thing we need to look at before we get into the post itself is why wedding costs so much.

The thing you need to realise is that generally when it comes to weddings, the marriage itself is by far the cheapest thing about the whole day. It seems that the biggest expenses are quite often everything that is set up for everybody else.

In the next section, we are going to be taking a look at the reception and evening of the wedding and seeing what we can do to reduce the costs.

After The Wedding

Ok, so if you are looking to save yourself a massive amount of cash, you are going to be able to do that at the reception and evening of your wedding. The first thing you should be looking to do is find a reputable wedding dj that you can hire for both the reception and the evening.

Having this will help you reduce the costs of wedding bands and musicians throughout the reception and alone this can save you a small fortune. The second thing you should be looking at is food.

One of the biggest expenses you will come across on your big day is feeding everybody else. In fact, you will probably find in most cases, when it comes to a wedding breakfast, this can often be around 30% of the total cost of your wedding.

If you really want to make some huge savings, you should be thinking outside the box with your catering. Why not look at options like having a curry counter. Something simple like this can offer a range of dishes to suit everybody, and you will also save a huge amount of money.

The final thing you should be looking at when it comes to your wedding is what day you get married. We know that many people opt for a weekend wedding, but let’s be honest, this is yet again for the convenience of your guests. If you want a wedding that is amazing, yours and affordable, then a weekday wedding could be just what you need.

So there you have it, what could be some of the most simple yet effective ways to save a fortune and still have the wedding reception and evening that you have always dreamed of.
