4 Simple Tips for Keeping Your Immune System Healthy

Your immune system is made up of the blood, skin, bone marrow, organs, and tissues, which if all work properly the way they should, will protect you from disease-causing pathogens. Your immune system has the job to protect and defend the body against diseases and limit the harm caused by non-infectious agents like cancer or sunburns.

Things to Do to Boost Your Immunity

Exercise

Exercising has many proven benefits, one of them being improving your immune system and keeping it healthy. Exercise does more than just building muscles and strengthening your heart. According to many studies, people who exercise often have lower cases of heart disease. Exercise increases your resilience to help you fight off illnesses. Try to exercise for at least thirty minutes every day and perform a mixture of strength and cardio training.

Use immunity aids

Consider using additional ways to keep your immune system healthy. Essential oils like tea tree and eucalyptus oils have antiviral effects that can protect you from viral infections. Use the oils in an oil diffuser and inhale them, or, make a hand sanitizer using eucalyptus or tea tree oils mixed with Aloe Vera and some isopropyl alcohol.

Additionally, you can use liposomal vitamin C to boost your immunity. Many people have vitamin deficiencies that can increase their susceptibility to diseases. Vitamin D deficiency can also increase your susceptibility to infections, therefore, get out and get some sunshine and fresh air. Apart from that, you can also take vitamin D supplements.

Eat a healthy diet

Eating various types of foods can help boost your immune system and help you fight infections. The nutrients found in food, especially, plant-based foods like vegetables, fruits, species, and herbs are important in keeping your immune system healthy. Unfortunately, many people don’t eat a healthy and well-balanced diet. A healthy diet contains minerals and vitamins to keep us healthy.

According to various studies, spices like cinnamon, cumin, thyme, clove, and oregano contain antimicrobial and antiviral properties that help prevent the growth of harmful bacteria, fungi as well as antibiotic-resistant microbes.

Antioxidants in these plant-based foods are essential in reducing inflammation by fighting free radicals, which cause inflammation when they accumulate at high levels.

On the other hand, the fiber in these foods helps you have a healthy gut. You get a healthy gut microbiome that improves your immunity and keeps harmful pathogens from entering your body through the digestive system.

Your diet should also consist of healthy fats. Healthy fats can be found in fatty fish like salmon, avocado, flaxseeds, canola oil, olive oil, peanuts, and walnuts.

Drink enough water

Staying hydrated is very important. Water helps move oxygen to your body cells; besides, water can do marvels to your body and the immune system. Water also works to get rid of the toxins from your body. Drinking a lot of water can help prevent toxins from accumulating in your body. You have probably heard that you are required to drink a minimum of eight glasses of water every day, which might sound hard. Try consuming a glass of water every morning to start your day.

The Bottom Line

Apart from exercising, drinking plenty of water, eating healthy foods, and taking supplements to boost your overall health, try as much as you can do distress and get enough sleep. Stress gutters your ability to be resilient. Read a book, get a massage and do something that makes you feel good.
