Practice is the key to getting good grades and aside from your child’s homework, you can carry out educational learning activities at home. The trouble for many parents is that their children tend to procrastinate and become easily preoccupied. If you’re in the same boat and can’t seem to get your child to do their homework no matter how much you nag, this post is for you. A private school in London shared this guidance for parents.
Speak to your Child
If your child’s having a difficult time at school and aren’t doing so well, there may be an underlying reason. Have a word with your child to see whether something’s going on and if you can help.
Private Tutoring
If you want to help your child get ahead at school, private tutoring may be a good idea. Your child will have the opportunity to learn from skilled professionals who are educated on the curriculum and have experience in teaching children with various learning needs. This additional attention may be just what they need to get back on track and thrive at school.
Look for Fun Means
The last thing that your child will want to do after spending a full week at school is more worksheets willingly. If you’re looking for a way to motivate your child to learn, you will need to think outside of the box and make their topics appealing and engaging. That might be to look for an experiment, or a story writing task. Something fun that they can get on board with.
Learning Styles
Following on from the point above, it's also important to establish which learning style your child has. Children all have different ways of learning. Some are happy to read from textbooks whilst others need real life applications and hands-on learning opportunities. You can work out which your child has by completing a short VARK survey.
